For the newest addition to the Mt Eden Train station, CLL have been working hard on constructing 63 piles to support the foundation of this station. These piles are reinforced into basalt volcanic rock and ECBF rock (East Coast Bays Formation Mudstone/Sandstone Rock).
This large-scale job required the use of our hefty machinery. The DTH 600dia hammer was used on the LB24 and EK90 for the installation of the piles. These machines were supported by the Sennebogen 70T crane.
The type of rock we were working against was a challenge within itself, along with difficult access to a constrained site and the deep piles and coring we were performing on a collapsing ground.
