CLL is currently in search of a seasoned professional to fill the role of Senior Estimator at our Head Offices in Kumeu, Auckland. - Manage the Tender Process, including but not limited to the following:
– Receive design and tender enquiries and allocate to database.
– Procure as much material and subcontractor pricing for the tenders to ensure CLL has a competitive edge.
– Liaise with Management team regarding large/difficult tenders to ensure labour and plant is available.
– Keep communication flow open between operations and estimating teams.
– Assist with development of methodologies, value engineering and look for opportunities that will increase CLL’s margin. Communicate with Project Manager’s to gain practical input.
– Arrange or undertake site inspections.
– Ensure tenders are reviewed by an independent person.
– Ensure that key CLL clients have their queries dealt with swiftly and professionally.
– Manage the handover process for successful tenders and ensure that the PCSP is carried out properly.
– Negotiate jobs – develop relationship with clients with the aim to entering negotiated or design build contracts that will deliver higher margins to CLL.
– Assists with variations.
– Any other tasks if and when required to assist the CLL team
– Attend required training to upskill (i.e. sling & lift, spotter, crane operation etc.)
– Presentable appearance is expected of all CLL employees – no ripped, torn or offensive slogans on clothing
– Always ensure the site is clean and tidy and free of clutter.
– Maintain site vehicles and ensure in good working order.
– Report any damage to tools, plant or machinery immediately.
– Any other tasks if and when required to assist the CLL team
- At least 5 years estimating experience in a geotechnical environment
- Civil Construction Industry knowledge
- The ability to work well with a team and client interactions
- Strong cost management expertise
- Attention to detail & Problem-Solving skills
